The restoration often represents a unique opportunity for the study of the artwork; it is critical to document in detail all the information that comes to light during the intervention both with regular and oblique light photography, macro and microphotographs and through surveys, sketches, graphics annotations, embossing and CAD surveys. The valuable data collected before, during and after the intervention are computerised and collected in the archive of the laboratory, which bears witness to the work carried out in over 60 years of activity.
